Curiosity Cabinet The first act of composition is to recognize objects, select them, and give them a new order. The familiar is isolated from its everyday surroundings by means of unaccustomed relations. The objects are thereby turned into seemingly meaningless forms. The preparation of Koneva’s Curiosity Cabinet is reminiscent of a natural scientific collection.
The charm of the banal, urban affinity, the pleasure in play, and the diversity of allegorical motifs unite in pictures suffused with original and penetrating inventive force. .
